Wool is sourced from happy free-ranging local sheep (and a few llamas) including wool from Metchosin's very own Parry Bay Sheep Farm, and processed by hand.

Wool comes either its natural colour or dyed with local plants.

About the spinner

I had always wanted to try spinning, and thanks to being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in 2017, I suddenly found myself with enough free time to try some new hobbies. A kind friend lent me all of her wool processing equipment to try out, and between chemo cycles I hiked over to the Parry Bay sheep farm when they announced they were doing some shearing. I really hadn't realized how heavy an entire sheep fleece is, and the 4km walk home felt pretty long! Since then I've been hoarding beautiful local fleeces as they come available and spinning them into yarn. I am far too slow at knitting to make finished products for sale, but I'd love to help you on your way to a beautiful project made with local wool.
